The Key To Making The Right Decisions - 7 day Devotional (Day 4)

Day 4 - A Pro-Con List
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
- Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6

While it’s important to use common sense, making a pro-con list to make a decision is relying on your own ideas to lead you instead of God’s direction.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.’ Our own human understanding is so limited. But God knows everything. Yes, He gave you a brain and He wants you to use it; but sometimes His direction and your so-called logic don’t match. Always go with His direction. You don’t want to rely only on your own understanding because you just don’t know everything you need to know.
But when I was making the decision whether to do something or not, it was hard! I started to make a pro-con list, and it looked something like this:
PROS:
A LIST OF ALL THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS DECISION
CONS:
A LIST OF ALL THE BAD THING ABOUT THIS DECISION
If I had made the decision based on my pro-con list, it makes it more clear visually what the smarter choice but could be wrong still. That’s why it’s more important to seek God and His direction we have to have faith in time we don't see the positives and the negatives clear enough to make the right decision. We just don’t know enough in our own natural minds to understand all the ramifications of a decision. Be sure you’re basing your decision on God’s direction, not on a pro-con list.
