The World Will See God's Goodness: Bible Study

Isaiah 66:1

"Thus saith the Lord , The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?"

Even the beautiful Temple in Jerusalem was woefully inadequate for a God who is present present everywhere. God cannot be confined to any human structure (see 2 Chronicles 6:18; Acts 7:49, 50). This chapter is a fitting climax to the book. God will lift up the humble, judge all people, destroy the wicked, bring believers together,  and establish a new heaven and a new earth. God is not limited; he doesn't live in only in a house of worship but whenever people are open to receive him. Solomon knew this when he prayed at the dedication of the Temple (2 Chronicles 6:18). God wants to live in you.

Reflection Of Thoughts:

When the foundations are shaking and you wish you could hide, remember that God is still In control. His power is not diminished by any turn of events. Nothing happens without his knowledge and permission. When you feel like running away-- run to God. He will restore justice and goodness on the earth in his good time.
