- Ecclesiastes 8:16-17
"When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:) Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it."
Even if he had access to all the world's wisdom, the wisest man would know very little. There are always more questions than answers. But the unknown should not cast a shadow over our joy, faith, or work, because we know that someone greater is in control and that we can put our trust in Him. Are you letting what you don't know about the future destroy the lot God want to give you today?
Scripture Reference:
Ecclesiastes 1:13-14
"And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit."
-1:13
Sore Travail: grievous task
-1:14
Vexation of Spirit: chasing after wind
Thoughts To Reflect:
God only knows what is really best for us. If you are chasing after happiness, you will never find it. If you are seeking after God, you will find endless joy.
