- 1 Peter 4:10-11
"As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God, if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all thing may be glorified through, Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."
- 4:10
Minister the same: use it for sowing
Stewards: managers
Manifold: varied
- 4:11
As of the oracle: as on speaking the very words
Minister: serve
As of the ability: by the strength
Praise and Dominion: glory and power
Our gift should be used faithfully in the serving of others, not for our own selfish needs. Some people are well aware that they have these abilities and choose to do with them as they please. Others feel that there is nothing special about them and they have no gift at all. That of course is a lie that the devil has placed in your head. Peter addresses both groups.
Everyone has gifts find yours and use them. As you seek to discover your gifts, if you see need in the church, seek to meet it. You might find gifts you never guessed you had. How can people see Jesus in us? When we use our gifts and God directs us in the helping of others. This pleases our Father.
Matthew 5:16
Let your light shine before that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.
