-Romans 15:5
"Now the God of patience and consolation gran to you to be like minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus."
The Roman church was a diverse community, it was made up of Jews and Gentiles, slave and free people, rich and poor, strong and weak. So it was difficult for them to accept one another. Accepting means taking people into our homes as well as into our hearts, sharing meals and activities, and avoiding racial and economic discrimination. We must go out of our way to avoid favoritism. Consiously spend time greeting those you don't normally talk to, minimize differences, and seek common ground for fellowship. In this way you are accepting other as Christ has accepted you, and God is given glory.
Reference Scriptures:
-1 Corinthians 1:10
Paul founded the church in Corinth on his second missionary journey. After he left, 18 month later, the people began arguing, division arose, and some slipped back into the immoral lifestyle prevalent in the city. Paul wrote this letter to recommend that immediate corrective action be taken to clear up their confusion about right and wrong and to remove the immorality among them. The Corinthian people had a reputation for jumping from fad to fad; Paul wanted to keep Christianity from degenerating into just another fad.
By saying "bretheren", Paul was speaking to all believers, Male and female. All Christians are part of God's family and share a unity that runs deeper than that of blood brothers and sisters.
-2 Corinthians 1:3
Many think that when God comfort us, our hardships op s should go away. But if that were always so, people would turn to God only to be relieved of pain and not out of love for him. We must understand that comfort can also mean receiving strength, encouragement, and hope to deal with our hardships. The more we suffer, the more comfort God gives us. If you are feeling overwhelmed, allow God to comfort you.
Remember that every trail you endure will help you comfort other people who are suffering similar hardships.
Thoughts To Reflect:
Are you living your life to please God and others or just yourself?
