God's Discipline Proves His Love: Bible Study

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."+
- Hebrews 12:2
Author and Finisher: Pioneer and Perfecter.
It takes diligence and work to walk and live this Christian life. In this walk it requires us to give up whatever is hindering our relationship with God, to run with endurance, and to struggle against sin with the power of the Holy Spirit. To walk this walk effectively we must keep our eyes on Jesus. We stumble and lose  focus when we look away from him to stare ourselves or at the circumstances surrounding us. We are running for Christ, not ourselves, so we must keep Him in sight.

Hebrews 2:9-10
As we begin to understand the love of Christ, we then must begin to show that some love. Realizing the truth that Jesus did not come into the world to gain status or political power, but to suffer and die so that we could have external life (cringing many sons unto glory"). If it is difficult to parallel with Christ's servant attitude, perhaps we strongly need to evaluate our own motives.
Question For Thought:
Are we more interested in power or participation, domination or service, getting or giving?
